  • Personalization: Adjusting what content you see based on signals such as your interactions, stated preferences, and contextual factors (e.g., time, location where enabled).
  • Signals: Inputs used to determine ranking, relevance, or personalization. May include user interactions, content metadata, source characteristics, and contextual factors.
  • Enforcement action: Actions Mor may take in response to policy violations, including warnings, content removal, feature restrictions, or account suspension. See Safety & Enforcement.
  • Government request: A request from a government agency or law enforcement for user data or content action, typically accompanied by legal process such as a subpoena, court order, or warrant.

AI & Ranking Transparency

How Mor uses AI systems and how content is ranked.

Signals We May Use

Content ranking and personalization may incorporate signals from the following categories. We do not disclose specific weights or thresholds.

  • User interactions (clicks, saves, reading time)
  • Stated preferences and topic interests
  • Recency and timeliness of content
  • Source characteristics
  • Content metadata and categorization
  • Contextual factors (time of day, general location where enabled)

What We Do Not Do

The following are explicitly prohibited by our Privacy Commitments:

  • We do not sell personal information
  • We do not engage in cross-context behavioral advertising
  • We do not purchase personal data from data brokers
  • We do not use personal information to train models for third-party benefit

AI Content Labeling

AI-generated or AI-summarized content is labeled where it appears. This includes:

  • Article summaries generated by AI
  • AI-created topic categorizations

Explanations to Users

Currently available:

  • Labels indicating when content is AI-generated or AI-summarized
  • Source attribution for aggregated content

Planned (not yet implemented):

  • Detailed explanations of why specific content was shown to you
  • Signal-level breakdowns of personalization factors

Limitations

AI systems have inherent limitations. We do not guarantee:

  • Accuracy, completeness, or absence of errors in AI outputs
  • Real-time processing or immediate reflection of changes
  • Perfect handling of nuance, satire, or context-dependent content
  • Absence of bias in ranking or summarization

For detailed limitations, see AI-Assisted Content Limitations.

Evaluation & Improvement

We evaluate and seek to improve our AI systems on an ongoing basis. This includes:

  • Reviewing user reports and feedback
  • Monitoring for errors and unexpected behavior
  • Updating models and prompts as appropriate

Note: We do not currently publish formal AI audit reports. Internal evaluation processes exist but are not externally verified. This may change as industry practices and regulatory requirements evolve.

Government Request Transparency

How we handle requests from government and law enforcement agencies.

Legal Process Requirement

We require valid legal process before disclosing user data to government agencies. The type of process required depends on the data requested:

  • Subpoena for basic subscriber information
  • Court order for connection logs and transactional records
  • Search warrant for content data

Emergency Requests

In emergency situations involving imminent danger of death or serious physical injury, we may disclose information without legal process. Emergency disclosures are made only when we have a good-faith belief that an emergency exists.

User Notification

Our policy is to notify users of requests for their data unless:

  • We are legally prohibited from doing so
  • Doing so would endanger life or safety
  • Notification would impede a fraud investigation

For complete law enforcement procedures, see our Law Enforcement Guidelines.

Moderation & Enforcement Transparency

How we handle policy violations and what recourse exists.

Enforcement Actions

When content or behavior violates our policies, we may take actions including:

  • Labels or warnings on content
  • Content removal
  • Feature-level restrictions
  • Temporary or permanent account suspension

For details, see Safety & Enforcement.

Appeals

Users who believe an enforcement action was made in error may submit an appeal. Appeals are reviewed and may result in reversal, modification, or upholding of the original decision.
